Chiefs minicamp updates: Jamaal Charles, Travis Kelce and more

The Kansas City Chiefs started their mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, and there is plenty of news.
Kansas City is back on the field for the first day or its three-day minicamp, and there is some buzz around Jamaal Charles and Travis Kelce. Charles has not been on the field since tearing his ACL in Week 5 against the Chicago Bears, but he has returned for warmups and individual drills.
It has been 247 days since Jamaal Charles was on the field.

Meanwhile, both guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and tight end Travis Kelce missed practice with illnesses.

It does not appear to be serious. On the flip side, linebacker Justin March and tight end James O’Shaughnessy passed their physicals and are ready to play. O’Shaughnessy was placed on injured reserve with a foot injury last season while March was shut down in training camp after a knee injury.

Obviously, it’s a good overall day for the Chiefs, who see the return of their All-Pro running back and get a couple of injured players back.
