The Kansas City Chiefs have some news about their secondary.
Kansas City finished up its OTA schedule on Friday, but a pair of corners went down with injuries. Both rookie corner D.J. White and UDFA Shannon Edwards were sidelined with hamstring strains. If that is the case, both will likely miss mandatory minicamp next week but not much else.
Also, veteran corner Phillip Gaines was given the day off. Gaines has been practicing on a limited basis at OTAs but was allowed a day or rest as he continues his march back form a torn ACL sustained in Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers last year.
#Chiefs coach Andy Reid says CB DJ White and CB Shannon Edwards left today's practice with hamstring strains.

Reid says the #Chiefs gave Phillip Gaines a rest day today. He wasn't out here. Had been going through individual drills.

In addition, general manager John Dorsey made a roster move, signing UDFA Bryce Cheek out of the University of Akron. To make room on the 90-man roster, Kansas City waived safety Peni Vea.
