6. Jeremy Maclin

For the longest time, the Chiefs have been looking for a wide receiver who can stretch the field, consistently catch the ball and keep defensive coordinators awake at night. How long have they been looking? Does the name Otis Taylor mean anything to you?

In the 2015 offseason, Dorsey finally went out and found that man in Jeremy Maclin, who at 28 years old is one of the best receivers in the game. Some thought that bringing Maclin in on a five-year, $55 million deal was foolhardy considering Alex Smith’s penchant to throw short, but the two made beautiful music throughout the season.

Maclin led the team in all meaningful receiving categories, catching a career-best 87 passes for 1,088 yards and eight touchdowns. The former Philadelphia Eagles star opened up the offense for both the trio of running backs and Travis Kelce, who was able to post 875 yards seeing mostly single coverage.

Perhaps Maclin showcased his worth the most in the AFC playoffs. After sustaining a painful high ankle sprain against the Houston Texans, Maclin shocked the world and played the following week in a limited role against the New England Patriots.

The move sets a tone entering 2016.
