Kansas City Chiefs strong safety Eric Berry has been named to the NFL Network’s Top 100 Players of 2016.

The Chiefs have nine players on the Top 100 Players of 2016, and we already knew the first seven heading into Wednesday’s show. On the most recent episode revealing players 60-51, we found out the eighth Chiefs player in strong safety Eric Berry.

Obviously, Berry getting recognized on this list is a really nice story. This is a man who was diagnosed in Dec. 2014 with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and came back to play all 16 games and both playoff contests in the 2015 season. He was magnificent, picking off a pair of passes in the regular season before intercepting Brian Hoyer in the AFC Wild Card Game.

Berry was named No. 55 on the list, showcasing just how far he has come since being given the worst news of his life. This certainly is not just players being nice either, as Berry played some of the best football of his career last season, earning First-Team All-Pro honors.

This is simply just icing on the cake for a man who needs not to prove anything. After being named to the Pro Bowl, All-Pro Team and the Comeback Player of the Year, things seem to be going well for the cancer survivor.
