Chiefs power rankings: Top 10 wide receivers in franchise history
By Bill Robbins
The controversial receiver had an up and down career with the Chiefs, but in the end, he left the organization as one of the best players at his position in club history. KC’s 1st round pick in the 2007 NFL draft started off his career with a boom as he finished his rookie season just 5 receiving yards short of the 1,000 mark.
His breakout year was in 2010, which saw the ex-LSU star make 72 catches for 1,162 yards and found the end zone 15 times while helping his team to a division title and subsequent playoff berth in the process.
He finished his Chiefs career ranked 1st in all-time receptions, 2nd in all-time receiving yards and 4th in all-time receiving TDs in franchise history. Like many on this list, he was also a very good blocking receiver and was known for some of the most making some of the most acrobatic catches that this team has ever seen.
Unfortunately, Bowe got released by the team last year due to massively under-performing during the 2014 season, meaning his career in Kansas City didn’t exactly end on a high note. Despite this and some of his off-the-field issues, D-Bowe’s production while with the Chiefs more than cements him as one of the top wideouts that this club has ever possessed.
