Coffee with the Chiefs – Tyreek Hill sighting
Good morning, Addicts! It’s Thursday, which means we are only one more day from getting out of work and enjoying Memorial Day weekend.
While many will use it as a time to let loose, grab some drinks and grill some burgers (and we all should), it’s also a time to remember those who fought for our country. Personally, both my grandparents fought in World War II. They both survived, but lost a lot of good men.
As for football, we can focus on the Kansas City Chiefs and their third and final day of the initial OTA session. The team finishes up on Thursday before getting back after it next week.
Here is the news you need to know…
Tyreek Hill is really fast, and other observations – Adam Teicher of ESPN
"He’s very fast. He showed flashes of his speed in a recent rookie camp, but turned on the burners for the full squad when he got through a hole quickly when returning a kickoff. Hill reportedly ran a 4.24 40 at his pro day coming out of West Alabama. Some fans were unhappy that the Chiefs drafted Hill, who last year pleaded guilty to domestic assault and battery by strangulation stemming from a 2014 incident."
Chiefs’ Steven Nelson seeks to make statement this year – Balir Kerkhoff of the Kansas City Star
"But there he was, inactive for the Chiefs’ first four games, and participating in a total of 53 defensive snaps, or 4.9 percent of the season. He did log 126 plays on special teams, but the third-round selection from Oregon State had higher hopes for himself upon becoming a pro."
Tyler Bray opens practice as Chiefs’ No. 2 quarterback – Adam Teicher of ESPN
"On the one hand, it’s surprising the Chiefs initially opted for Bray as their No. 2 quarterback. Not only has he practiced little for most of the last two years because of injuries — a sprained ankle in 2014, a torn ACL last season — but the Chiefs have more invested in Murray and Hogan. Each was a fifth-round pick, Murray in 2014 and Hogan this year."
