After a decent 2015 season for the Chiefs’ offensive line, the organization’s brass went out and made a significant addition to their line in free agency. The club added former Browns right tackle Mitchell Schwartz, who was named by Pro Football Focus as the best RT in the league last year.

This is even more of a steal when you consider that Schwartz is only 26 years old and could easily have some of the best years of his career just ahead of them. When you combine this with the improvement that left tackle Eric Fisher showed last year and how well second-year man Mitch Morse commanded the center position, and all of the sudden this looks like a very formidable unit once again.

Starting quarterback Alex Smith is entering his fourth season at the helm. The 32-year-old veteran signal-caller has improved his QBR in each of his first three seasons in Kansas City and had arguably his best campaign as a Chief in 2015.

The economics major from the University of Utah set personal career highs for passing yards with 3,486 and rushing yards with 498 while scoring 22 total touchdowns along the way. Smith has looked more comfortable with his reads and calls in head coach Andy Reid’s system.
