After watching a lot of game film on Chris Jones I’m very excited about the pick. Yes, there are questions about his effort at times, but for KC to have landed someone with elite upside at the top on the second round is fantastic. I believe in the Chiefs coaching staff and believe they have a proven track record of getting the most out of players. If that happens with Chris Jones they will have a special talent that should be making plays in KC for years to come.

I believe that as a rookie he will contribute right away. Look for him to be a regular part of the defensive line rotation with Dontari Poe, Jaye Howard, and Allen Bailey. I think he has the potential to be a significant upgrade from Mike DeVito even as a rookie (and especially on passing downs) and that’s saying something because DeVito was a solid and reliable player.

If you really want to see Chris Jones at his best I encourage you to watch this six minute video showing his game against Missouri this past season. In my opinion, it’s the best complete game that he played. He shows his explosiveness from the very first snap and unlike some of the other games he is pretty consistently going all out.

He easily could have had three sacks in this game and was in the backfield all day. If the Chiefs get the player that is in this video then their first pick in the 2016 draft will have been a home run.

So what do you think, Addicts? Are you excited about Chris Jones? Are you worried about his motor and/or effort? Do you think the Chiefs coaching staff can get the most out of him? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. Also, if you have a request for another rookie you’d like to see a similar profile on feel free to put it in the comments as well.

As always, thanks for reading and GO CHIEFS!!!!
