Believe me, this was a very difficult decision for me, but in the end, Priest Homes narrowly edged out Jamaal Charles for the top dog as best all-time Chiefs running back. Of course this could still change in the future since Jamaal is still active and playing for KC. Let’s get to Priest though. He was an undrafted free agent that was dumped by the Ravens and he became one of the biggest and best free agent signings in club history.

The  former Texas Longhorn rushed for 72 touchdowns as a Chiefs, which is good for a franchise record. He also went to three Pro Bowls and was selected as first-team all-pro three times as well. Holmes was excellent at running between the tackles but also had the strength and speed to accelerate around his defenders with ease, making many wonder why Baltimore gave up on him too early.

Holmes, like Charles, was also a class act on and off the field, as he has done many things with the fellowship of Christian athletes since his days in the NFL. Even though he only played six seasons in a Chiefs uniform, the man they call Priest left a lasting mark on this franchise and will be remembered as one of the best offensive weapons that the Chiefs have ever possessed.
