Good morning, Addicts! The Kansas City Chiefs are closing in on their second OTA of the offseason, with the entire team scheduled to be together for the first time in 2016.
The Chiefs are coming together nicely, and now add some young players out of both the UDFA and NFL Draft class. Kansas City still has some questions to answer, however, including when Eric Berry reports and when Justin Houston returns from injury.
Hopefully general manager John Dorsey can get through to Berry’s camp and get a deal done soon, with July 15 looming as the deadline. It is going to get done, but the sooner the better. Am I right?
Here is the news you need to know…
Chiefs might have a steal in D.J. White – Seth Keysor of Arrowhead Pride
"And that is why I went into D.J White’s film with really, really low expectations. Generally speaking, 6th round draft picks are about 28 times more likely to do nothing than become a starter (note; these are unofficial numbers. And by that, I mean made up), so when I watch a guy who fell to the 6th round I start off looking for the reasons why he fell that far."
Will Tyrann Mathieu contract talks affect Eric Berry’s deal? – Joel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride
"The Chiefs have until July 15 to reach a long-term deal with Berry. It is my prediction that they will get something done by then. That’s partially because a long-term deal could create around $7 million in cap space for the cap-strapped Chiefs."
Chiefs best players heading into 2016 – Charles Lam of KC Kingdom
"Those are fantastic numbers for all Chiefs’ fans to see. The Chiefs wide receivers didn’t catch one touchdown pass the previous year. He and Alex Smith also really synced up as the season went on."
