The Kansas City Chiefs are into their offseason program already, gearing up for training camp.

The Chiefs are trying to win the AFC West for the first time since 2010, and it all starts now. After the NFL Draft concluded on April 30, the team had a rookie camp the following weekend. Now, we will start to see the veterans come in for the total team portion of the schedule.

Here are the OTA dates, followed by the mandatory minicamp:

May 24-26
May 31-June 2
June 7-10
June 14-16

This is all voluntary except for the last set of dates. We expect all the players to be in attendance except for Justin Houston, who is still recovering from offseason knee surgery to repair his non-functioning ACL.

The main storyline will be whether or not Eric Berry shows up. Berry was given the franchise tag back in February which is basically a one-year, $10.8 million deal. If he doesn’t show up to the minicamp, the team can fine him.

If he is not signed by that date (and he hasn’t signed his franchise tag yet), Berry is a good bet not to show up. He would be risking injury and perhaps losing out on a long-term deal that may come to $50 million or more.

Let the fun begin.
