Demarcus Robinson

Robinson is a repeat drug offender. He was suspended four times in three seasons at Florida. Three times for marijuana.  Then significantly… from his childhood… when Robinson was 2 years, old his father shot himself so we have to wonder if he has unresolved issues that he needs to spend time sorting out?

For a better picture on the vetting John Dorsey and crew may have done, here’s Jenna Laine of Sports Talk Florida who interviewed Robinson and asked him some tough questions at the combine which Dorsey wouldn’t address in his presser last weekend.

So, Jenna Lane offers us some of the details we haven’t known about Robinson including the fact that he was in drug rehab for 45 days.

Jenna Laine also reports that Robinson’s drug problem appears to be more a consequence of “bad decision making & selfishness: versus actual addiction.”

Demarcus also had a suspension for meeting with a marketing agent which of course was a violation of several NCAA rules.

Also, Robinson was drug tested twice per week during his freshman year and twice per month the next two years so, it is highly unlikely he had smoked marijuana other than the times he was caught.

As far as I’m concerned the book is not closed on Demarcus Robinson, but he appears for now to done everything he should have done to deal with his situation.
