The Kansas City Chiefs just finished making their final pick of the 2016 NFL Draft, and people are already starting to do 2017 NFL mcok drafts. Those people need to be put in a padded, round room.

While on the topic, many see the Chiefs as taking a left tackle to replace Eric Fisher. This is not going to happen. Fisher was bad his first two seasons but played much better in 2015. There is no reason not to believe he won’t continue to improve, something the brass obviously agrees with after exercising his $11.9 fifth-year option.

Kansas City will eventually sign Fisher to a long-term deal, locking him up for years to come. Here is the news you need to know…

"I believe the Chiefs will get Berry’s deal done this summer. I also believe the Chiefs will find a way to hang onto Poe beyond 2016 whether that’s with a new long-term contract or the franchise tag. Pro Bowl-caliber nose tackles that play nearly every snap don’t hit the market very often for a reason"

"Kansas City radio talk show hosts Danny Parkins and Carrington Harrison were unhappy over the weekend when the Chiefs selected Tyreek Hill in the fifth round. Hill pleaded guilty last year in Oklahoma to punching and choking his pregnant girlfriend and was given three years of probation."

Chiefs’ decision to exercise Fisher’s contract was good oneAdam Teicher of ESPN

"That’s why the Chiefs’ decision to exercise their fifth-year option on Fisher is a good one. It buys the Chiefs a little more time toward that goal, with Fisher now being under contract through the 2017 season."
