In the fourth round, the Kansas City Chiefs used their third pick on DeMarcus Robinson.

The Chiefs need another wide receiver, and they hope they got one in DeMarcus Robinson out of the University of Florida. Robinson is 6-foot-1 and 203 pounds, so size is certainly not an issue. However, there are some major red flags.

Mike Mayock called him a gifted athlete but notes his off-the-field issues, including a few benchings and numerous suspensions.

1.355 yards and nine touchdowns in his career. He’s not the fastest guy in the world, but he started 20 games in his final two seasons at Florida. Robinson seems like the kind of guy who needs to be harnessed emotionally but a player who has some legitimate talent.

In 2014, Robinson went off for 53 catches and 810 yards with seven touchdowns despite playing with awful quarterbacks. He failed to match those numbers last year, amassing 48 catches for 522 yards and two touchdowns.

This is what NFL.com had to say about Robinson’s bottom line in its draft profile:

"Immensely talented with elite combination of straight-line speed and quick-twitch athleticism. Robinson flashes game-breaking potential as a deep ball threat and after the catch, but was suspended by two different coaches over a three-year period. While Robinson is likely to test off the charts and has the talent to be a top four receiver in this draft, it is hard to imagine his draft slot equaling his talent due to his character concerns."

The website compared him to Mike Wallace, who obviously is a guy that struggles to run the entire route tree but has tremendous speed. Considering Robinson ran a 4.59 40-yard dash, I don’t understand that comparison. This has the feel of a pick that is the ultimate lottery ticket on the third day of the draft.
