With their final pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs selected Dadi Nicolas, a linebacker out of Virginia Tech.

General manager John Dorsey wrapped up his fourth draft as the head honcho of the Kansas City Chiefs, selecting Dadi Nicolas of Virginia Tech. Nicolas is huge at 6-foot-3 and 275 pounds and was able to play well in a competitive conference, earning a Third-team All-ACC selection in 2015.

Nicolas had 45 tackles and 2.5 sacks last year, showcasing a blend of speed and athleticism. He had 17.5 sacks total during his time under head coach Frank Beamer, perhaps giving Kansas City another edge rusher to compete with guys like Dee Ford and Frank Zombo at outside linebacker.

All told, Dorsey clearly put a premium on getting better on defense despite already having a top-10 unit. Dorsey went out and selected three cornerbacks along with a second-round defensive tackle and now Nicolas, who might be fighting for a role on special teams initially.

All told, the Chiefs now head to training camp with one of the better rosters in the National Football League. Everything is pointing up for the team, even with the looming knee injury to Justin Houston.

The offseason is over, now it’s time to get on the field and get after it.
