Which of the above combos would you be most happy with? What are some other combos that you think could possibly be the Chiefs’ first two picks? It’s been a long time coming but we’re finally here, happy 2016 NFL Draft week! Here are some rapid fire, final thoughts and predictions.

  • The Chiefs will stay put at 28 and draft the highest rated defensive linemen on their board, either Vernon Butler or Chris Jones.
  • John Dorsey will somehow find a way to get a third round pick or another fourth round pick, and will use this pick on Connor McGovern.
  • The Chiefs will draft a wide receiver in the fourth or fifth round, and it will either be Daniel Braverman or Malcolm Mitchell.
  • The Chiefs will select either Deiondre Hall or Rashard Robinson in the fourth or fifth round if they haven’t already taken a cornerback.
  • With one of their two fifth round picks, the Chiefs will select an OLB, and it will either be Joe Schobert, Alex McCalister, Yannick Ngakoue, Tyrone Holmes, or Stephen Weatherly.
  • The Chiefs will draft Morgan Burns in the sixth round to be their kick returner, all but assuring Knile Davis will not be on the Week 1 53 man roster.
  • Moritz Boehringer and Destiny Vaeao will both be Kansas City Chiefs, either one as their seventh round pick or both as priority free agents.
  • The Chiefs will not select a quarterback, but will try hard to sign Vernon Adams if he does not get drafted.
  • The Chiefs will not select an inside linebacker. (I’m classifying Jatavis Brown as a LB/S hybrid so he’s still in play.)
