If it isn’t clear already, I favor Apple over Jackson. I’m convinced he’s a better fit for this football team defensively and has more upside in the long run. With the addition of Apple the Chiefs could field one of the most gifted secondaries in the league.

If Apple is there, there’s probably only one other player I’d take over him (Paxton Lynch, as previously discussed). Drafting Apple gives the Chiefs options if Gaines can’t go as expected. He’ll also add much-needed depth to the position and give 2015 draftee Steven Nelson some competition for the slot role. With the departure of Sean Smith and Jamell Fleming moving over to safety, it’s necessary for Kansas City to backfill the talent in that group.

Are you interested in either of the two aforementioned cornerbacks or do you have your eye on someone else at that position? Is there another position group that demands more attention with the 28th-overall pick than cornerback? Might the second round be a better place to identify help in the secondary?
