Coffee with the Chiefs – Favorable schedule?

facebooktwitterreddit

Good morning, Addicts! The Kansas City Chiefs now know the road to the playoffs and perhaps the AFC West division title after their 2016 regular-season schedule was released on Thursday night.

Personally, I love the schedule for Kansas City. I thought the team had a brutal stretch to begin last year’s campaign and coupled with the Sean Smith suspension, it put them behind the 8-ball. This year I see a much better road. Kansas City could absolutely start the season 3-0 and then in December, there are two home primetime games and three contests in at Arrowhead consecutively. Sign me up.

Also, and this must be noted, Kansas City only plays consecutive road games once. That is huge.

Here is the news you need to know…

Chiefs have favorable schedule in 2016 Adam Teicher of ESPN

"After the Chiefs open at home against San Diego, they play three of their next four away from Arrowhead Stadium, including road games against the Texans, Steelers and Raiders. The schedule has a comfortable finishing four-game stretch. The Chiefs have three straight at Arrowhead against the Raiders, Titans and Broncos before they end the season in San Diego against the Chargers."

Looking at Kansas City’s path come SeptemberJoel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride

"Hellllooooo, Kansas City Chiefs 2016 NFL schedule. Arrowhead will be rockin’ this year as the Chiefs stadium hosts a December game against the Raiders and CHRISTMAS NIGHT at Arrowhead against the Broncos. Thanks, Santa!"

Game-by-game predictions for the Chiefs in 2016 Adam Teicher of ESPN

"The Kansas City Chiefs had to win their final 10 games last season to finish the regular season at 11-5. They won’t get off to such a rotten start in 2016, but they also won’t finish with such a flourish."
