What has changed: Literally, nothing. Carolina is very happy with its team and it should be. The Panthers went 15-1 last season including a 14-game winning streak to begin the campaign. Carolina then rolled over the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals in the NFC playoffs, only to fall short against the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50.

Carolina re-signed Mike Tolbert and placed the franchise tag on cornerback Josh Norman, fresh off his first All-Pro season. The Panthers are a rarity in this day and age, coming back almost the exact same roster as the year before. Of course, the draft is still coming up but as of this second, Carolina is almost completely intact.

Should they scare you?: The Panthers are one of, if not the best, teams in football. This is going to be the hardest game of the season for the Chiefs, who have to go on the road and try to contain Cam Newton while scoring against an excellent defense. Kansas City will need to be at its best on the offensive line, taking on Star Lotulelei, Kawaan Short, Luke Kuechly, Thomas Davis and Charles Johnson in the front seven.

The Chiefs can win this game, but it will be a tough challenge. Carolina went undefeated at home last season and there is no reason to believe this team can’t do it again.

Prediction: 20-17, Panthers
