Buffalo Bills: The Bills have retained veteran wide receiver Leonard Hankerson to a new deal after he appeared in just one game for them last season.  Furthering the concussion talk will be the retirement of 23 year old linebacker AJ Tarpley who suffered a pair of concussions this past season and decided to walk away from the game.

Carolina Panthers: The Panthers made a pair of moves to keep their NFC championship squad in tact by re-signing defensive tackle Kyle Love and punter Mike Palardy.

Cleveland Browns: In yet another surprising personnel move, the Browns have released veteran safety Donte Whitner.  Whitner is another name in a growing list of players the new Browns leadership has chosen to either release or not attempt to retain.  Whitner has expressed some hard feelings about the situation given that the team had no reason not to let him go much earlier in the offseason.

Denver Broncos: Broncos offensive lineman Tyler Polumbus has announced his retirement from the NFL, adding to the list of linemen that will not be returning to Denver in 2016.  The team did add defensive tackle Jared Crick who should see some playing time at defensive end.

Chiefs’ Take

: With an overhaul of the offensive line and no clear option at quarterback, it’s tough to imagine the Broncos even coming close to repeating last season.

Detroit Lions: The Lions have added defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry in an effort to revitalize their pass rush.  The team also signed running back Stevan Ridley who they hope will bring some stability to what has been a very disappointing running back situation for years.

  • Author’s Take: I still hate Pioli for letting Gilberry walk.

Houston Texans: The Texans have brought back safety, and former Chief, Quintin Demps on a one year contract.

Miami Dolphins: In a startling change of events, the Dolphins front office did something right when they claimed cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olumu off of waivers from the Browns.  Ekpre-Olumu had been a top tier prospect until suffering a bad knee injury during a drill.

The injury kept him out all of last year and the Browns waived him with an injury designation.

Chiefs’ Take

: Ifo Edpre-Olumu was immediately on my raidar when he got waived.  I had hoped that teams would be scared off by the injury designation, but unfortunately that was not the case.  If healthy, he could have been a nice boost of talent for the Chiefs secondary.
