Coffee with the Chiefs – Rumors!

Good morning, Addicts! It’s Thursday, which means we are getting very close to the end of the work week. In other words, it is almost time for you to go running out of your cubicle, screaming hallelujah for your freedom. In my case, I’ll be proposing to my girlfriend come Saturday, so it’s going to be a memorable weekend. I hope yours is also great.
In the meantime, let’s look at what is going on with our beloved Kansas City Chiefs. Of course, there has been plenty of draft intrigue with rumors and mock drafts galore.
Here is the news you need to know…
Three-round mock draft has Chiefs taking a tight end early – Joel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride
"While I don’t like spending a second round pick on a tight end, I do like the idea of having two talented tight ends that can play regularly. NFL defenses are getting smaller with more teams using more defensive backs. The Chiefs could respond by going bigger and utilizing two tight ends not only in the middle of the field in the passing game but also for the versatility two tight ends provide in the running game."
Kansas City’s cap space has dropped under $1 million – Joel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride
"Only the top 51 players count against the cap right now so once a draft pick is signed he will bump someone out of the top 51. Thus, the Chiefs don’t need as much for draft picks as you would think. It’s around $2 million."
Stevie Brown worth the risk for Chiefs – Scott Dillon of KC Kingdom
"Wilson had played all over the defensive backfield when he was with Miami from 2011-2014, but played safety full-time for the Chargers last season. He did have a pick and totaled 29 tackles, but also played for a very bad Chargers team."
