Good morning, Addicts! The Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up for the 2016 NFL Draft, as evidenced by them checking out some of the prospects that could go anywhere from the first round to undrafted. It is always a wild time, with 32 teams tryign to gain the slightest advantage by seeing something in a kind – good or bad – that nobody else can glean.
General manager John Dorsey and his scouts have serious work to do over the next three weeks, finalizing the draft board. It won’t be without some chaos for sure, but that is what makes all of this so much damn fun.
Here is the news you need to know…
Chiefs defensive backs coach checks out Southern Miss prospect – Joel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride
"Southern Miss isn’t the SEC but you can’t fault him for that. The Chiefs do seem to like size in their cornerbacks and Reed is about there with his size. The Chiefs also like players like Peters that attack the ball and Reed fits the bill there too with a school record 19 pass breakups last season."
Deal with Andy Mulumba brings him back to United States – Jason Wilde of ESPN
"That attitude comes from Mulumba’s upbringing. He was born in Zaire, which was renamed Congo after Laurent Kabila’s takeover in 1997, and moved to Montreal when he was 12 to escape his war-torn native country. Mulumba, who played soccer growing up and didn’t take up American football until the 10th grade, went on to earn a scholarship to Eastern Michigan."
Top 10 Alex Smith plays from 2015 – Seth Keysor of Arrowhead Pride
"Game situation is a little more nuanced. I prefer moments where the team NEEDED a first down (or touchdown) and Smith delivered. So some plays, even if they’re slightly less difficult plays to make, will get a higher ranking by me due to how important it was that Smith make something happen."
