Coffee with the Chiefs – Dee Ford’s time

Good morning, Addicts! I hope you all are having a nice week wherever you are. Here in Chicago, the weather is warm but the rain has rolled in, something nobody likes to see.

As for our Kansas City Chiefs, the optimism has been dampened some by the news that Justin Houston could miss anything from a few days of training camp to the entire season, based on an ACL injury that oddly didn’t include a tear. We all hope Houston can come back and be healthy, something that would be huge for the Chiefs in 2016.

Here is the news you need to know…

We are going to find out about Dee FordAdam Teicher of ESPN

"The Chiefs will need the Ford they thought they were getting when they drafted him, the player he was in a December victory over the San Diego Chargers last season. In that game, while filling in for the injured Houston, he had three sacks and broke up the potential winning pass in the end zone on the game’s final play."

Evan Boehm will be visiting the Chiefs in AprilJoel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride

"Boehm has some versatility to play on the inside with one year at guard and three years at center while at Mizzou. He is Mayock’s No. 4 ranked center. The Chiefs probably have their center in Mitch Morse but he has position versatility like Boehm does. The Chiefs really do live up to the “play the best five” theme. I wouldn’t put it past them to move anyone around to find the five best linemen."

Goodell expects to hear Chiefs appeal before draftJosh Alper of Pro Football Talk

"The Chiefs are accused of contacting Maclin directly during last year’s “legal tampering” window when teams are only permitted to speak with representatives of impending free agents."
