Good morning, Addicts! The Kansas City Chiefs are getting ready for the 2016 NFL Draft, which will be here before you know it. The process seems to take forever each and every year, and then suddenly, it is staring us in the face before we know what happened.

The next month or so will be about small signings (hopefully Mike DeVito and Husain Abdullah) and getting hammered over the head with mock drafts. You know it, and I know it. We here at Arrowhead Addict will try to be smarter than the average analyst, which means more film studies and breakdowns of the prospects we believe Kansas City will target.

Alright, here is the news you need to know…

Shane Ray defends his hilarious Chiefs tattooDenver ABC affiliate

"He originally posted the photo to Instagram a few days ago. He since has tweeted a message to fans because of backlash. Many fans praised the ink, and some didn’t like Ray’s choice but respected it. Others spoke out against it or flat out insulted Ray."

Chiefs racking up dead money againJoel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride

"$5.2 million of that comes from Ben Grubbs. He ended last season on IR with a neck injury. Grubbs had signed a four-year, $24 million deal in KC last year but was cut one year into it so it will cost them. This move only saved the Chiefs about a million bucks in cap space but it was a necessary one if his neck injury was serious enough. This isn’t ideal but you’re going to have free agent signings that don’t work out. Not a big deal as long as it’s not a habit."

Rod Streater explains his lost seasons – Adam Teicher of ESPN

"Streater will have to earn whatever playing time he gets next season with the Chiefs, who have Jeremy Maclin as their No. 1 wide receiver and Albert Wilson and Chris Conley chasing the other starting job. But there’s enough playing time for at least three receivers and Streater could claim a spot as the slot receiver."
