The loss of Kansas City’s third-round pick due to tampering charges with Jeremy Maclin last offseason (assuming it holds up) could hamper the Chiefs ability to target safeties and guards in this draft since the third round is a good target range for both of those positions. Regardless, the Chiefs really need to add another starting caliber guard to their roster.

The good news is that after the first round of free agent signings the Chiefs are set pretty much everywhere except the secondary and offensive guard spots. While those are obviously important spots to fill the Chiefs are still in much better shape than most teams which are still looking for starters at numerous positions all over their roster.

If Kansas City can add a few more quality players at these positions over the coming months via free agency or the draft they should enter the 2016 season as one of the front runners in the AFC.

So what do you think Addicts? Do you agree with my assessments of the Chiefs free agent moves so far this offseason? Do you agree that the secondary and guard positions are really the only remaining weak spots on the KC roster? What players would you like to see them add? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

As always, thanks for reading and GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!
