Kansas City Chiefs outside linebacker Tamba Hali continues to show why we love him.
There are certain players who make up the fabric of the organization. Tamba Hali is one of them. Having been with the team for 10 seasons and racking up 86 sacks (second only to Derrick Thomas), Hali has become a fixture with the franchise.
Earlier this week, Hali signed a three-year, $22 million deal to stay with the Chiefs for the remainder of his career. General manager John Dorsey released the following statement about Hali staying put.
"“Tamba is one of the most passionate and competitive football players I’ve had the privilege to be around,” Dorsey said. “His leadership and playing ability have been critical to our success defensively. He’s a great teammate and a true professional. We are pleased he is staying in Kansas City.”"
The Pro Bowler talked about his thoughts on playing out the remainder of his career with the Chiefs, including exactly how much he contemplated leaving.
And finally…
Welcome home, Tamba.
