2. Trade De’Anthony Thomas
Some people are big fans of the jet sweep and some may think that Thomas hasn’t really had a big shot to make a difference in Kansas City. To those I say that Thomas was a very minor part of an 11-game win streak that gave the Chiefs their first playoff win in 20+ years. In fact, Thomas was knocked out of the game at San Diego and never returned to a game the rest of the season. He has only played in 22 games in two years for the Chiefs so his impact has been limited to say the least.
It has been reported that the San Francisco 49ers are interested in Thomas because he played for Chip Kelly at Oregon. I like this idea because Kelly might be dumb enough to give up as high as a fourth-round pick for the punt returner/H-back which would work out very well for the Chiefs. The fourth round is usually a great place to find hidden line talent on both offense and defense. Most likely, the 49ers will give a fifth-rounder and maybe a conditional pick if they value Thomas that high.
