The Kansas City Chiefs are on an epic roll.
Chiefs general manager John Dorsey has been having himself quite a last 24 hours. After signing outside linebacker Tamba Hali and tagging strong safety Eric Berry earlier this offseason, Dorsey got to serious work on Wednesday. Dorsey not only signed right tackle Mitchell Schwartz, but also inside linebacker Derrick Johnson and outside linebacker Frank Zombo to three-year deals.
Then, Dorsey struck a deal with defensive lineman Jaye Howard worth two years and $12 million with $8.3 million in guarantees, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

This is an unreal steal for the Chiefs. Howard was explected by many to be somewhere in the neighborhood of four years and $40 million with at least $15 million in guarantees, similar to the contracts of Mike Daniels and Derek Wolfe.
Instead, Howard clearly wanted to stick around and the Chiefs got him at the right price. This bodes really well for the team making a strong push at Sean Smith, the final major piece of the free agency period for Dorsey. Apparently, he is thinking along those same lines.
I’m hearing the #Chiefs are making a strong push to retain Sean Smith.

If Smith comes back to Kansas City, it’s time to give Dorsey a lifetime contract. This is insanity.
