The Kansas City Chiefs are losing both safety Tyvon Branch and guard Jeff Allen.

The beginning of the 2016 National Football League year has begun, and the Chiefs already look a little different. According to multiple reports, the Arizona Cardinals and safety Tyvon Branch have agreed on a two-year, $10 million deal while guard Jeff Allen is joining the Houston Texans for four years and $28 million.

For Branch, this is a chance to start alongside Tyrann Mathieu, an opportunity he was never getting in Kansas City. Branch is a good player and a nice signing for Arizona, but he was never going to get ahead of Ron Parker and Eric Berry on the depth chart.

Allen is the one that many will be upset about losing. After playing the first four years of his career with the Chiefs, he will be going to the Texans along with Brock Osweiler and Lamar Miller. Houston offered Allen more money than he is probably worth, but that is the price of doing business early in free agency.

As it stands, the Chiefs have some work to do on the offensive line. Assuming that Ben Grubbs will be back and healthy next season, the Chiefs have Eric Fisher, Grubbs, Mitch Morse, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and Jah Reid as the starters from left to right.
