In 2014 he only recorded two sacks over the final TEN games of the season. I love Tamba Hali and the Chiefs do need more pass rush help, but it pains me to say that the money they would spend to bring him back may be better served going to a new younger pass rusher that can hopefully stay healthy and be more productive down the stretch when KC needs him most (and there are pass rushers to be had in this draft class).

We’d all love to see our favorite players retire Chiefs. It makes us feel like those special players only belonged to us. No other fan base can lay claim to them. While it may pain us to see those players play out their final days in a different uniform sometimes the business of football has to trump our sentimental side.

Derrick Johnson and Tamba Hali both deserve to get every last penny they can make with what time they have left in the NFL. The tole that the game will take on their bodies long term will catch up with them soon and when it does you hope they have all they will need to live out long and happy lives. If the Chiefs can give them enough to do that then great, we will all be thrilled to see them retire in Chiefs red.

But if they get offers from other teams that are more than KC feels it is wise to spend on them they have to make the business decision to let them go. I just hope Chiefs fans will understand.

As always, thanks for reading and go Chiefs!!!!!!!!!!
