The Kansas City Chiefs might find themselves in a pickle with  Knile Davis.

The Kansas City Chiefs find themselves in a predicament this coming offseason. They have numerous free agents that they could lose, forcing general manager John Dorsey to make tough decisions. One decision that has not really come up is what to do with fourth-year man Knile Davis?

The Chiefs have five running backs on their active roster. We know that the Chiefs have no intention of cutting All-Pro running back Jamaal Charles. Standout running backs Spencer Ware and Charcandrick West, who took over for Charles when injured, should remain on the roster even with a healthy Charles. They did a great job taking over the reins and one of those players may very well be Charles’ replacement when that day comes.

The gray area becomes what to do about Davis. Davis has been great in the return game, averaging 27.8 yards on kick returns. He has also scored twice in the regular season including a 108-yard kick return against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos in 2013 and the St. Louis Rams in 2014. Yet, his most memorable was the game from the playoffs in which he took the first play all the way.

When it comes to handling the ball, Davis took a backseat to West and Ware, losing his position as the No. 2 running back. In his first year, Davis averaged 3.5 yards per carry and scored four times when given the chance. He even improved in his second year rushing for 463 yards; from 242 in his first with six touchdowns.
