Green Bay Packers:  The Packers continue to invest in their defensive line by re-signing Letroy Guion to a new deal.  After having already locked up Mike Daniels, this does put the team in an interesting spot regarding once-heralded defensive tackle BJ Raji who apparently has yet to even talk to the team about a new deal.

Indianapolis Colts:  Linebacker Jonathan Newsome was arrested this past week after a noise complaint led to authorities finding marijuana in his apartment.  Newsome has had past legal issues with marijuana as well.

Kansas City Chiefs:  Veteran linebacker Derrick Johnson talked to reporters and made it very clear that he wants to return to Kansas City, and has had talks with the team.  The star linebacker made a return to the Pro Bowl just one year after having surgery on his achilles.

Miami Dolphins:  The Dolphins have reportedly been working on new deals for star running back Lamaar Miller and defensive end Olivier Vernon.  However, money is tight after the team went on an ill-advised shopping spree last offseason.  Meanwhile, new head coach Adam Gase has apparently already gotten the “full confidence” kiss of death from the Dolphins owner who also made it clear there was a hard three year cap on Gase to start producing success the team hasn’t had in over a decade.

New England Patriots:  Another name has joined a recent trend of football players retiring young as linebacker Jerod Mayo announced he is leaving the game.

New Orleans Saints:  The Saints are trying to sign quarterback Drew Brees to another extension.  The team is currently in horrible salary cap shape (again), and are undoubtedly looking to alleviate some of that.  However, Brees is the absolute last person who will likely be willing to help them out as it is his contract that has put them in bad cap shape in the first place.

New York Giants:  Defensive lineman Jay Bromley was arrested for sexual assault this week, but apparently will not be facing any charges.  The story is…interesting.

New York Jets:  The Jets are likely going to have to use the Franchise Tag on defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson.  The team is in a difficult situation with him after having supposedly drafted his replacement in Leonard Williams, but then having to change plans with the arrest of Sheldon Richardson.  The Jets also became the first team to lose a player for the 2016 season with an injury as kicker Kyle Brindza has torn his achilles.

Oakland Raiders:  The Raiders have come to terms with the city of Oakland for a one year lease to keep the team at O.Co.  The lease will serve as a place-holding measure to see if the Chargers will stay in San Diego or not.  A long-term deal is still not expected.  It was a busy week for safety Nate Allen who was released and then promptly re-signed by the Raiders.

Next: Eagles and Sam Bradford
