2. Tyvon Branch

There’s no question that Branch was one of the best value signings in the 2015 offseason for Kansas City. The biggest reason the Raiders cut Branch was his health, that may have been the only reason the  Chiefs didn’t sign him longer than one year. The end result was 16 games played including one start and 43 combined tackles for the veteran safety.

If Kansas City can find a way to convince him to stay and be a role player for this defense I think it would be a great win for the Chiefs. Seeing that he finally did have a full healthy season and played sufficiently there could be a decent market for Branch in terms of teams that have little to no depth at the safety position.

3. Frank Zombo

You can never have too many pass rushers on the team and Zombo has proven that he can get to the quarterback. This is another one of those higher skilled players that the Chiefs have been able to keep with a lower end contract. Keeping Zombo would allow the Chiefs to not have to use a draft pick on a pass rusher and keep depth at the position allowing a fluid rotation of pass rusher for Kansas City.

4. Jason Avant

The veteran wide receiver has aged and only contributed to 15 receptions for 119 yards last season but it’s more what Avant did in the playoffs that might be worth considering keeping him around. Avant’s game against the Patriots showed us that he still has something left in the tank and Alex Smith formed some chemistry with him in that game. While I wouldn’t expect Avant’s numbers to dramatically increase next season if Kansas City were to resign him there’s still a lot of value in player chemistry.

There’s a plethora of options the Chiefs have and with the NFL increasing the salary cap for each team Kansas City should be able to make competitive offers to anyone they’re really interested in signing this offseason.

That’s what’s on my mind, Addicts, what’s on yours?
