Good morning, Addicts! The Kansas City Chiefs are getting closer and closer to the NFL Scouting Combine, which will start on Feb. 23 and end on the last day of the month. For Kansas City, all of their scouts will be at Lucas Oil Stadium alongside the coaching staff and general manager John Dorsey.
The Chiefs still have two months before the draft begins and less than three weeks to free agency. It’s the time of year where all kinds of craziness breaks out, and you simply have to hold on for the ride.
Here is the news you need to know…
What 30 mock drafts say about who Chiefs will take – Joel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride
"For the Chiefs, there are a lot of scenarios. Like the past couple of years, the Chiefs go into the draft without any glaring needs. Sure, the Chiefs do have needs — defensive lineman, cornerback, offensive lineman and so on — but none of them are so pressing that the Chiefs have to force a pick. That’s the way it should be."
NFL franchise tag window begins now for Chiefs – Joel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride
"There are two to be aware of. First, the March 1 deadline for a team to use the tag. Second, a July 15 deadline for the player and team to strike an agreement on a long-term deal. If they don’t agree to a long-term deal by then, the player will have to play that season under the franchise tag and they’ll start again after the season."
Kansas City not likely to fare as well in 2015 – Adam Teicher of ESPN
"They’ll pick 28th in the first round, 10 choices later than the spot where they picked Peters out of the University of Washington. The Chiefs haven’t had their first pick at 28 or lower since 2004, when they traded out of the first round and picked Oregon defensive tackle Junior Siavii with their initial choice."
