3. New York Jets at Kansas City
Again, this could be a game that determines playoff seeding. First, it is a home game. The Chiefs should be gunning for an undefeated mark at Arrowhead and this will be one of the hardest obstacles to that goal. New York is also in the AFC, and any time you can pick up a quality conference win and potential tiebreaker, you gladly do it.
The Chiefs should win this game, but the Jets are not a pushover. New York is balanced with Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker on offense, while Muhammad Wilkerson, Darrelle Revis and Sheldon Richardson loom on defense.
2. Oakland Raiders at Kansas City
We could have gone with this game on the road or at home, but we choose the Arrowhead matchup because it is about defending your turf. Oakland is going to continue getting better, hoping to reach the postseason for the first time since 2002. The Raiders have a good offense with Derek Carr, Amari Cooper and Latavius Murray. The Chiefs will need discipline and focus to make sure Oakland is held in check.
In the three seasons under head coach Andy Reid, Kansas City is 5-1 against Oakland and undefeated at home. This needs to continue if the Chiefs want to take the AFC West crown.
