Good morning, Addicts! The Kansas City Chiefs and the rest of the National Football League can start to place the franchise tag on players. Retaining their own free agents will be pricey for Chiefs – Adam Teicher of ESPN
"That’s a bargain compared to the projected franchise number for Smith ($14.8 million for a cornerback), Johnson ($14.1 million for a linebacker) or Howard ($15.5 million or $13.4 million, depending whether he would be classified as a defensive end or tackle)."
Kansas City has seven of the top 75 NFL free agents – Joel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride
"His best year came in a contract year, which is great timing. The Chiefs have let most of their linemen walk in free agency over the past three years so we’re thinking that will happen here, too."
Just how special was the Chiefs rookie class of 2015? – B.J. Kissel of KCChiefs.com
"Tackles, yards and touchdowns are great, but football is the ultimate team sport, and more often than not, it’s all 11 guys on the field doing their jobs for that one player to put up a statistic that ends up in a box score."
