Conclusion

Truth is, that’s just a rough draft start to this whole process.  There are plenty of options that I like a lot in this year’s draft class.  In fact, for what the Chiefs need, this year is really shaping up nice.  Will it match up to the 2015 class?  Well, that might be setting the bar just a little high…but the potential is certainly there.

John Dorsey could really solidify his reputation (and job security) in Kansas City with another showing like he had last year.

This class has a lot of defensive talent that should help KC reload in some vital areas.  There are also a ton of underclassmen coming out this year, which throws a lot of turmoil into the drafting mix.  Many of these younger guys should not be heading to the NFL yet, despite having the talent to do so, and teams will be willing to let them fall some in the draft.

However, the top end underclassmen will also cause some of the talented seniors to fall when they normally wouldn’t.  I would be very surprised if this year doesn’t yield a very good crop of rookies.  As for the rookies I specifically mentioned for the Chiefs, you can check out some more reading on each of them here…

Well, that’s going to do it for me Chiefs fans.  That’s a whole lot of writing I just did, but hopefully it helped you all get ready for the offseason.  Remember, it’s more than just mock drafts and wish lists.  And I promise you, what you read here today and over the past couple of weeks isn’t even scratching the surface of the process that John Dorsey and his staff are going through right now.
