The Kansas City Chiefs will be practicing outside on Wednesday afternoon in the frigid air of the Midwest. The team is hoping to prepare for what is expected to be a very cold day on Saturday in Foxborough, Mass., when the Chiefs take on the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium.
However, the Chiefs are still missing some key pieces including offensive linemen Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (concussion) and Mitch Morse (concussion), wide receiver Jeremy Maclin (ankle), running back Spencer Ware (ankle), and outside linebacker Tamba Hali (knee/hand). On the positive side, outside linebacker Justin Houston is getting back on the field after a day off.
Kansas City has to be hoping beyond words that both Ware and Maclin can find a way to go on Saturday. Ware’s injury does not seem all that serious since it was termed a regular sprain and he finished the game against the Houston Texans. Maclin is a different story, dealing with a high ankle sprain. However, head coach Andy Reid deemed it mild and did not rule out the chance of Maclin practicing.
