The Chiefs are hottest team in football right now, that’s a fact. However, this is a football team that relies heavily on the defense to keep it a low-scoring affair so the offense can get a lead.

Starting this week in New England and every week after that the competition is going to increase more and more which will require more and more from the offense.

Kansas City looked like a world-beater after the fire the set in Houston but that was equivalent to playing a cupcake team before conference play. The Texans wouldn’t have beaten anybody in the playoffs. The Chiefs lined up against a good defense and struggled to move the ball in the first half. Houston’s offense gave them no chance and eventually their defense wore down from being on the field that long which allowed Kansas City to score more.

“Have enough variety in their offense that makes them tough to defend.”

When you talk about the Patriots instantly two things come to mind, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. These two have been causing problems in the postseason for not just good playoff teams but great playoff teams. If the Patriots didn’t have this brilliant coach and this hall of fame quarterback we would be talking possibly about another blowout scenario with the injury problems they’ve had.

That’s not the case though, this is still a very dangerous team and it would suit the Chiefs well to get the offense running better in case the Patriots find some success against what’s been a stellar defense for Kansas City. It’s worth mentioning though, Belichick respects the offense enough to say (Chiefs) “have enough variety in their offense that makes them tough to defend.”
