Coffee with the Chiefs – Counting the snaps
Good morning, Addicts! The Kansas City Chiefs will be back at One Arrowhead Drive as they prepare for the New England Patriots, who they play on Saturday afternoon at Gillette Stadium in the AFC Divisional playoffs.
This is going to be the biggest game that Kansas City has played since 1993, when it reached the AFC title game and unfortunately, lost to the Buffalo Bills. New England is installed as a small favorite, but many believe the Chiefs are actually the better group. This should be one hell of a weekend.
Here is the news you need to know…
Snap counts show interesting numbers for the Chiefs – Adam Teicher of ESPN
"The playing rotation used by the Kansas City Chiefs at outside linebacker for their playoff win over the Houston Texans was interesting and may look similar to the one they use Saturday in the divisional round against the Patriots in New England."
Tom Brady says Kansas City has a winning formula – Mike Reiss of ESPN
"The Chiefs posted a plus-14 turnover differential in the regular season, which ranked second best in the NFL. Their 29 takeaways were the fourth most in the league, while their 15 giveaways were the second fewest."
Biggest surprises of Wild Card weekend – Neil Paine of FiveThirtyEight
"KC came into its game against Houston with the league’s top rushing attack according to Football Outsiders’ DVOA metric, and the Texans boasted a decent but not great rushing D during the regular season. So it shouldn’t have come as much of a surprise that the Chiefs ran for 141 yards during their 30-0 annihilation of the Texans."
