The Kansas City Chiefs won their first playoff game in 22 years on Saturday. Some are still trying to figure out how a team that began the season 1-5 and lost superstar running back Jamaal Charles could actually rip off 10 consecutive wins to end the regular season before hammering the Houston Texans in the AFC Wild Card game, 30-0.

Well, I’m no different. I buried this team back in October and was more than ready to see the Chiefs move on from both Andy Reid and Alex Smith if the losing continued. It seemed hopeless for this group, and then divine intervention came to the forefront. Right before the Chiefs won their second game of the season, I met and started dating the girlfriend, Stephanie.

I will rarely delve into the personal life on here, but I think this might be the only way to explain what is going on. I meet Steph, explain to her how much of a disaster this team is, and they have not lost since. There has to be a connection, because nothing else explains the Chiefs, the Chiefs, going on a historic run.

I thought it was only fair to let everyone know that I’ve finally figured out why Kansas City keeps winning. She’s the good luck charm, there is no other explanation. After 22 years of misery, something had to be the driving force behind this. Seems like I owe her a nice date. Heck, if the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, she’s not allowed to leave me, ever.
