The Kansas City Chiefs have not been underdogs since Week 10 when they visited the Denver Broncos. That is going to change when our boys travel to take on the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in the AFC Divisional round.

The early line is New England laying five points at home, which means that Vegas sees the Chiefs as a two-point underdog at a neutral site. In other words, these teams are not separated by much.

Frankly, the Patriots deserved to be favored. They are 12-4, coming off a BYE week and getting Julian Edelman back in the lineup. Meanwhile, it appears that Jeremy Maclin will be out for this game, although we are waiting on an MRI to give us the clear picture.

New England is a very good team led by the duo of head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady. Still, the Chiefs have more than a puncher’s chance in this game. Kansas City can get after the quarterback and shut down the run, two things that should be very effective against Brady and the boys.

Offensively, Kansas City must run the ball well. If the Chiefs can get Charcandrick West and Spencer Ware going, this will be a great game and perhaps a glorious one in the end.
