John McClain of the Houston Chronicle says,
"“The Chiefs have a talented secondary, including cornerback with rookie Marcus Peters and veteran Sean Smith. They know DeAndre Hopkins is the Texans’ most proficient offensive weapon. Watch them double team Hopkins …. What makes his season – 111 receptions, 1,521 yards and 11 touchdowns – even more remarkable is that he’s caught passes from four different starting quarterbacks. His ability to adjust has been amazing. It’s up to the coaches to find ways to get him the ball.”"
Judy Battista of NFL.com says,
"“The Chiefs… have outscored opponents 278-128 during the 10-game winning streak to end the regular season, and they were especially potent in the fourth quarter, when they have outscored opponents 50-10. Expect to see a lot of tight end Travis Kelce, who had six receptions for 106 yards and two touchdowns in the first game against the Texans.”"
In his piece called “5 Reasons Why the Chiefs Will Beat the Texans” Alex Marvez says,
"“Head coach Andy Reid has a 5-0 career record against the Texans, including two victories since his 2013 arrival in Kansas City. This includes the Chiefs’ 27-20 win over Houston in the 2015 season-opener that was more lopsided than the score appeared. Reid appears to have sound knowledge on how to stymie Houston although the Chiefs must do a better job blocking Texans defensive end J.J. Watt, who had nine tackles and two sacks in that Week One encounter.”"
With the Chiefs victory over the New England Patriots last year 41-14, it appears Andy Reid has the number of not only Bill Belichick but all his cronies who came from his system. Guys like Bill O’Brien (Houston’s head coach) and Romeo Crennel (Houston Defensive Coordinator).
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk says,
"“The Texans have the home-field advantage and a chip on their shoulder. The Chiefs vividly recall the collapse in Indy from two years ago, and they carry the burden of being expected to win. It all adds up to the supposedly inferior team, sparking by a pregame frenzy that looks like a KISS concert, advancing to the next round. They may not get any farther, but that’s a matter to be addressed next week. Florio’s pick: Texans 23, Chiefs 20.”"
Sometimes Florio seems to know what he’s talking about when it comes to pro football. Not this time. His KISS concert analogy was supposed to be… uh… cute? Hmm.
Peter King says this about the Chiefs chances of advancing deep into the playoffs,
"“The Kansas City Chiefs haven’t lost since Halloween. They’re 10-and-0 down the stretch. How they can get deep into the playoffs… is by playing efficiently on offense and making sure you take one or two chances per game with Alex Smith: one or two chances with Jeremy Maclin deep down field. I’ll give you their secret weapon in these playoffs… his name is… Charcandrick West. Andy Reid, the head coach of the Chiefs, wants desperately to have a ball-control game. Charcandrick West who’s been an adequate if not good substitute since the injury to Jamaal Charles in October is an absolute key to how far the Kansas City Chiefs go.”"
There you have it Addict fans. The table has been set. Now, who do you think will be serving the other team some crow?
