Can the Chiefs defeat the Texans?
By Nick Floyd
The 2015 Kansas City Chiefs are playoff bound. Just think about that one for a second. The Chiefs have not been to the post season twice in 3twice years in a long time. The last time the Chiefs were in the playoffs in two of the last three years was back in 1995 and 1997, and they lost both appearances.
But this 2015 team is different from the teams in ‘95 and ’97; they are riding on a 10-game winning streak. Looking back, those two teams from the mid 90s the best win streak either team posted was seven games in 1995. However, in 1997 the Chiefs finished the regular season on a six-game win streak. It is also interesting to note that both those teams had records of 13-3.
But this team is not those teams. A lot of the game had changed since then and the team as a whole as changed. This team also has done something neither the 1995 or 1997 team accomplished, coming back from a 1-5 start to reach the playoffs. No, this team is unique and only joins the 1970 Cincinnati Bengals as the only teams to start 1-5 and reach the postseason.
So with the knowledge that the Chiefs have turned things around so dramatically in the past few months, a big question remains, can they keep it up?
