Good morning, Addicts! It is HUMP DAYYYYYYYY. The Kansas City Chiefs are going into their second day of practice and preparation for the Houston Texans, who they will face on Saturday afternoon at NRG Stadium. Of course, the Chiefs are aiming for their first playoff win since beating the Houston Oilers back in 1993.

Kansas City is favored to win the game, and should be getting back outside linebacker Justin Houston. This is huge news, considering he has led the team in sacks each of the past three years.

Here is the news you need to know:

Chiefs, at least, have the better quarterback in a playoff gameAdam Teicher of ESPN

"Smith didn’t have a career season for the Chiefs, though he did set a personal record for passing yardage with 3,486. But he had what was perhaps the best extended stretch of his career and certainly of his time in Kansas City over the season’s final 10 games. Five times his passer rating was over 100 during the Chiefs’ 10-game winning streak, and it was 99.9 in a sixth."

Memories of last playoff game still vivid for Kansas City playersAdam Teicher of ESPN

"But for those Chiefs players and coaches who were involved in that last playoff game, the haunting memories remain large. The Chiefs led 38-10 in the third quarter but proceeded to waste that lead, the second-largest for a losing team in NFL playoff history. The Chiefs watched the Colts storm back to win 45-44."

Chiefs still churning out rushing yardage without Jamaal CharlesDave Skretta of the Associated Press

"Ware resembles a bowling ball, 230 pounds of muscle that will bruise and batter before going down. On one carry last week against Oakland, the former LSU star carried two defenders for extra yards even after brutalizing two other would-be tacklers."
