Kansas City @ Denver

Denver looks dangerous with the resurgence of Peyton Manning but did that defense look exhausted, especially the secondary. This defense plays man-to-man every single game and it causes these defensive backs to never miss an assignment. The Chargers took full advantage of that. They sent their receivers deep throughout the game to wear down Chris Harris and Aqib Talib.

The plan finally worked in the third quarter when Philip Rivers took advantage of an attempt to jump the underneath route to get an 80-yard touchdown. The problem was that San Diego is not a good enough defense to stop Manning from knowing exactly how they were going to attack and calling audibles away from it.

The Chiefs just might have a good enough defense to prevent that from happening. Manning looked good on his throws, especially his footwork and throwing motion. The problem is that he still wasn’t able to accurately throw the deep ball. That is to the Chiefs advantage. If Kansas City can stop the run game and force Manning to throw downfield then they have a real shot at causing turnovers. The offensive line for the Broncos is still terrible and Houston and Hali will be close to 100 percent by then. The boo birds will be out in Denver after Manning throws a second pick and the Chiefs get a statement win against the Broncos. Chiefs 30, Broncos 14

The team that will stand between Kansas City and the Super Bowl will come down to New England and Cincinnati. Belichick has never feared Cincinnati. Chiefs’ fans remember vividly in 2014 after a beatdown at the hands of Kansas City, “We’re on to Cincinnati.” The Patriots are weakened by injuries to their strongest players but this will be a classic Belichick game. Patriots 24, Bengals 20
