Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin was injured Sunday vs. the Oakland Raiders.

Yikes.

The Kansas City Chiefs are in control vs. the Oakland Raiders but the team’s playoff hopes may have taken a hit when WR Jeremy Maclin left the field with an injury.

Late in the third quarter, Alex Smith threw a ball high over the middle to Maclin. The star WR landed hard on his backside and did not get up, appearing to be grabbing his groin and hip. He walked off the field on his own power with a slight lip and went straight to the locker room.

Obviously losing Maclin would be a huge loss for the Chiefs as the team enters the playoffs next week.

UPDATE: Maclin is back on the field and is standing in front of the heater. Various sources are reporting that he appears to be trying to get loose.

If Maclin is ok, the Chiefs might be wise to just let him sit out the rest of the game. KC has a 23-10 lead currently in the fourth quarter.

DOUBLE UPDATE: The Chiefs say Maclin has a hip injury and he is back in the game. Phew.
