Is it just me, or…

Is anyone else as jazzed with Tyvon Branch’s contributions in the past several game? Seems like he’s helped save a couple of games.

Is it just me, or…

Does anyone else think the Chiefs may be playing with fire by allowing the opposition to score early? It seems to be a pattern. They wait to make adjustments and THEN they shut the other team down. It raises questions: was the defensive game plan bad to begin with?… will a top tier team take advantage of that and then it will be too much for the team to overcome later in the game? … Defensive coordinator Bob Sutton obviously has the players to execute a shutdown game plan, so why is he waiting to call on his blitz package?

That being said…

Is it just me, or…

With the Chiefs one-game-out of first place, does anyone else believe Kansas City can win the division by simply beating the Browns and Raiders while letting things play out for Denver as they face AJ McCarron, the newly self-proclaimed Tom Brady, and the Cincinnati Bengals? Personally, I always liked Aaron Murray more than AJ McCarron coming out of college. So… if McCarron is Brady… Murray must be Joe Montana.

Let’s hope the Chiefs can keep their Montana wrapped up a couple more years before opening. HO-HO-HO….

Is it just me, or…

Does anyone else think Charles Woodson deserves our utmost respect as a player. One more game and Woodson is hanging it up. It’s difficult for me to come up with the name of a player who has played the game for so long (18 years) with such excellence. Woodson was taken #4 in the 1998 NFL draft. Yep, the same draft that Peyton Manning went #1 overall and of course the same draft the Chiefs took Victor Riley. Such a memorable draft… for some teams. CW has 5 interceptions this season. That’s more than almost anyone who made the Pro Bowl… expect for Marcus Peters. And he did that at the age of 39.

On a competitive note: I’ll be glad to see him go.

Is it just me, or…

Or is anyone else missing De’Anthony Thomas as much as I am? I miss him like:

+ Rain misses water,

+ Lovers miss their Lane,

+ Cause misses Effect,

+ Green misses the rain-forest,

+ Geronimo misses being yelled…

… you get the idea. DAT’s game is not only the punt return game but remember all the talk about him learning the wide receiver’s playbook in the offseason? I still think he can have a big impact as a wideout and help change the coverage schemes the Chiefs will face, which will be doubling Jeremy Maclin. In the playoffs, the defensive backs will be much better and it will take more than Travis Kelce or the running game to soften up those passing lanes. However, the biggest reason I miss De’Anthony Thomas is… his speed makes opposing defenses pre-snap adjustments look like a Chinese fire drill. And of course the “biggerest” reason I miss DAT is… speed kills. DAT in space is like… Han Solo shifting into Light-speed.

Is it just me, or…

Is anyone else excited to learn that there is a chance the Chiefs could not only win the AFC West division but that the Denver Broncos could miss out on the playoffs all together.

Is it just me, or…

Or is anyone else perhaps more excited about the prospect of playing the QB-less (iffy at best) Houston Texans in the first round of the playoffs? Sure, I’d love to see the Chiefs win the division but there may be an easier path to the AFC Conference Championship game… and it’s through Houston.
