Jimmy Clausen to start vs. Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs caught another break on Sunday, as the Baltimore Ravens are going to be starting Jimmy Clausen at quarterback over veteran Matt Schaub. Neither quarterback is good, but Clausen is actually worse than Schaub, despite his pick-six acumen.

In his career, Clausen has played in 20 games and completed 53.6 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Even more incredible if Clausen’s 5.24 yards per attempt. To put that in perspective, throwing for 6.50 yards per attempt it highly underwhelming.

Last week, Clausen started his first game with the Ravens and lost 33-6 at home against the Seattle Seahawks. Clausen completed 23-of-40 passes for 273 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. Most of those yards came in garbage time, with Clausen playing an awful game.

Frankly, the Chiefs should eat Clausen and his offense alive. His top target is Kamar Aiken with secondary weapons being Chris Givens and a bunch of other guys. Kansas City will be without Justin Houston and Husain Abdullah on defense, but it is rolling and should be able to shut down anything Baltimore tries to do.

Here is to hoping that the Chiefs take care of business and get themselves to 9-5 with two weeks to go.
