4. Eric Berry returns from cancer (2015)

In Dec. 2014, the tragic news came down that Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. It was a devastating blow for everyone involved. Berry would start treatment immediately to eradicate the cancer while the Chiefs finished the season, playing their final five games. For Berry, the fight was about getting his life back and securing his future with football on the backburner. Amazingly, Berry would author one of the most incredible stories in athletic and perhaps human history.

Berry was expected to miss all of the 2016 deason at the very least, with many believing his football career was over. Instead, Berry would shock everyone involved and make it back for the beginning of training camp. Berry has not missed a practice or game, showcasing his incredible will to not only suvive, but thrive. Berry has been terrific in 2015, getting back to being one of the best safeties in the game. It has been a tremendous source of inspiration for legions across the globe.
